Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield

A jet transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet touched down based on established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a public statement.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.

This event is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has experienced equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
