Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's achievements, its skilled performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved 7 awards throughout the event.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—judged by experts.
